The Deposit Protection Scheme latest Rent Index has reinforced growing prices in the rental housing market
Here are the key figures taken from the report:
- Average UK rents have risen £66, an increase of 8.21%
- North West average rental is £675 PCM
- All property types have seen a rent increase, from flats to larger detached properties
Matt Trevett, Managing Director of The DPS has said
“The last 12 months of rent increases, including a significant acceleration during the last quarter, shows that the price of renting forms a substantial part in rising living costs across the country. Despite the current economic environment, many tenants still seem prepared to pay in order to secure a rental property.”
